NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is asking the public for help in identifying a man wanted in connection with a robbery that took place in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn on Tuesday night.

Around 11:15 p.m. Qiuqing Wang, 47, was walking near 847 57th Street when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her pocketbook in an attempt to take it, according to police.

The victim initially held onto the bag and was dragged down the block causing abrasions to her back and head, police said.

"I hope the police catch the bad guy as soon as possible," Wang's daughter said.

Authorities have described the suspect as a 20-year-old, black, male. He is 5' 10" tall and weighs 140-lbs.
