Man Was Robbed Of Turkey Dinners While Walking To Friend's House

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CBSNewYork) — A man who was robbed on Thanksgiving morning in Bridgeport, Conn., received a pleasant surprise courtesy of a sympathetic 911 operator.

As WCBS 880’s Sophia Hall reported Saturday morning, it all started with what appeared to be a joke. The operator received a 911 call from a man claiming he had been robbed of his turkey-and-stuffing Thanksgiving meals.

The victim said the robbery happened as he was carrying the meals to a friend’s house in Bridgeport.

After an officer arrived at the scene and verified the man was telling the truth, the 911 operator, Denny Rivera, joined her co-workers to pool money together and purchase two turkey dinners from Boston Market.
