Freight Train, Car Carrier Collide In West Nyack

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A freight train and a car carrier exploded into flames following a violent collision in West Nyack.

The car carrier was crossing the tracks at a location that did not have crossing gate, authorities said.

The driver was thrown from the cab of the vehicle during the crash. The cab was sheared off.

The train pushed the burning truck cab 400-yards. The accident left the truck driver with multiple broken ribs. The two train engineers were not hurt.
