Police: Suspect Robbed L.I. Burger King After Ordering Food

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who they said robbed a Long Island Burger King after ordering food.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday in Oceanside.

Police said a man walked into the Burger King on Long Beach Road and ordered a burger. He then left the restaurant, came back five minutes later wearing a mask and ordered a second burger, police said.

But this time when the cashier opened the register, he walked around the counter and grabbed an unknown amount of cash from the drawer, police said.

The man then took off in a black Honda with tape covering white New York State license plates, police said.

There were no other customers inside the Burger King at the time of the robbery and only four employees, police said. No one was hurt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
