Hours earlier, he smiled for his mug shot after officers allegedly caught him speeding down a residential street in Miami Beach in a yellow Lamborghini.

"Upon approaching the car, when he opened the window and confronted Mr. Bieber, (an officer) smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage," said Miami Beach police Chief Ray Martinez.

He was pulled over at 4 a.m., and officers said he refused to follow instructions and repeatedly swore at them.

As CBS 2's Dave Carlin reported, the police report said Bieber demanded to know: "What the f**k did I do? Why did you stop me?"

Police said Bieber later admitted that he had been drinking, smoking marijuana and taking prescription medication, CBS News reported.

R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff was arrested in the same incident. He is charged with driving under the influence, and his bond was set at $1,000. Police said Sharieff was driving a Ferrari, CBS News reported.

Bieber and Sharieff, wearing bright red jail fatigues, appeared in court via a video link from jail. They remained silent while defense attorney Roy Black negotiated bond.

This was just Bieber's latest run-in with police. Earlier this month, officers searched his home after a neighbor accused the pop star and his entourage of throwing eggs at his home – causing extensive damage.

And Bieber has made unflattering headlines multiple times over the past year.

Last April, he drew harsh reaction after leaving a message in the guestbook at the Anne Frank House in the Netherlands hoping that the diarist and Holocaust victim would have been a "Belieber."

In July, he drew an angry reaction from Chicago Blackhawks fans after he posed with the Stanley Cup following a concert at the United Center, and stood on the revered Indian head logo while doing so.

And just a day later, he made headlines when a video was released showing Bieber urinating into a yellow plastic mop bucket in the kitchen at a New York City nightclub, while being cheered on by his entourage.

"That's the coolest spot to p**s, you know, you will forever remember that," someone tells a staffer as the man identified as Bieber is shown from the back. "You're not going to remember him p***in' in the restroom. Everybody does that."

Earlier this week, Bieber made headlines for an incident involving urine for a second time. A TMZ report said residents of wealthy Snowmass, Colo., were not pleased when Bieber urinated his initials into the snow in their town.

Following his arrest Thursday, Bieber exited the courthouse, with some theatrics for the crowd. The star jumping on to the roof of the van and waving,
