DA: Man Caught With Gun, Brass Knuckles At JFK

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Pennsylvania man bound for Los Angeles was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport Wednesday, after he allegedly tried to pass through security with a loaded handgun and a pair of brass knuckles.

Richard Forti, 55, of Annville, Pa., was arrested Wednesday morning on criminal possession of a weapon charges, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

The weapons were discovered in the Lebanon County, Pa. man's vest when an alarm went off as it went through an X-ray scanner when Forti went through a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint.

Authorities say the semi-automatic pistol had five rounds of ammunition in the magazine.

If convicted, Forti faces up to 25 years in prison.
