Man Struck, Killed By LIRR Train In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train in Flushing, Queens Wednesday evening.

The man was struck at the Flushing-Main Street station on the Port Washington branch of the LIRR around 9 p.m., authorities said. He ended up pinned underneath the train.

The man was pronounced dead, the FDNY said.

Service on the Port Washington Branch was temporarily suspended following the incident.

There was no immediate information about how the man ended up on the tracks.
