PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A Patchogue man was critically injured by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning, police said.
Walter Orlando Matute Penaranda, 24, was crossing Montauk Highway east of Bay Avenue around 4:20 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle, according to authorities. Witnesses said other vehicles were traveling along the highway and there might be additional witnesses.
