Jets Sign 6 More Draft Picks, Including Boyd And Amaro

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The New York Jets aren't wasting any time locking up their draft picks.

The team has officially signed six more selections to four-year contracts.

Wide receiver Shaquelle Evans, a fourth-rounder; linebacker Jeremiah George, a fifth-rounder; and three sixth-rounders - quarterback Tajh Boyd, wide receiver Quincy Enunwa and linebacker IK Enemkpali - were signed Thursday.

The deal for their second-round pick, tight end Jace Amaro, was announced Friday.

New York has reached deals with eight of its 12 draft picks.

Boyd set 57 school and Atlantic Coast Conference records at Clemson. He will likely compete with Matt Simms for the No. 3 quarterback spot.

Evans had nine touchdown catches for UCLA last season. George led the Big 12 with 133 tackles last year at Iowa State.

Enunwa set a Nebraska record with 12 touchdowns last season. Enemkpali finished third in Louisiana Tech history with 17 1/2 career sacks.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Amaro had 106 catches and seven touchdowns last season in Texas Tech's spread offense, where he often lined up as a slot receiver.

The Jets signed fourth-round draft pick Dakota Dozier and seventh-rounder Trevor Reilly to four-year contracts Wednesday.
