Jamaica, Queens Man Accused Of Shooting Girlfriend Dead, Saying She Committed Suicide

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Jamaica, Queens man was charged Friday with shooting and killing his girlfriend and claiming she had committed suicide.

Amin Abdullah, 20, was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

Prosecutors alleged a witness saw Abdullah and his girlfriend – Alexis Anderson, 15 – quarreling in a front room on the second floor of a residence on 106th Road in Queens this past Wednesday.

Prosecutors alleged the witness left the room, and heard a pop sometime before 11 and 11:43 p.m. Wednesday. Abdullah then went into the witness' room and they returned together to the front room, where the witness saw Anderson's body on the floor with what looked like blood on her head, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors alleged Abdullah first told detectives the victims shot herself, but later admitted that he shot and killed her with a revolver.

A DNAInfo report claimed sources said the Abdullah and Anderson had gotten into a fight in which Abdullah accused Anderson of getting a sexually-transmitted disease and infecting him.

If convicted, Abdullah could face 25 years to life in prison, prosecutors said.
