'WFAN Fan Takeover Night' On Tap For Staten Island Yankees

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Staten Island Yankees are turning things over to the fans -- and The FAN -- on Wednesday night.

The Yankees' Single-A affiliate is asking the public for its input on everything from walk-up music to in-game entertainment for "WFAN Fan Takeover Night" against the Williamsport Crosscutters at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

On its website, the team is polling its fans on dance-team performances, video clips and Tweet-Your-Seat prizes for the game. On Twitter and Facebook, the club is asking for ideas on "distracting" walk-up music and headshots for Williamsport's players.

WFAN will be airing Wednesday's game, with station personalities Kim Jones and Ed Randall in the booth. Coverage begins on 660-AM and 101.9-FM at 6:50 p.m.

"The Staten Island Yankees players and coaches are looking forward to seeing what the fans have chosen for tomorrow night's fan takeover," manager Mario Garza said. "With Ed Randall and Kim Jones broadcasting live, it'll definitely feel more like a big league game."

Jones said she was "equally excited and grateful" to be calling the game.

"I think it's terrific to shine a light on minor league baseball, the Staten Island Yankees and the Crosscutters," Jones told CBSNewYork.com. "I'm sure these teams and players have good stories to share, and Ed and I will do our best to share them."
