Farmingdale State College, according to Newsday. The newspaper reports that the organization has done some preliminary scouting of the campus, but a decision isn’t likely to be made any time soon.

“We would love to host the Jets’ training camp,” Patrick Calabria, the college’s vice president for institutional advancement and enrollment management wrote in an email to Newsday. “Of course, it has to make financial sense for the college.”

Since being named the Jets’ head coach in 2009, Rex Ryan has held training camp upstate at SUNY Cortland every season except for the lockout-shortened 2011 campaign.

“SUNY Cortland’s been great to us,” general manager John Idzik said in a statement in January. “They’re extremely hospitable and the campus is a terrific setting for our team to bond and prepare for the upcoming season. At this time, we simply wish to perform our due diligence to ensure we have the best possible environment for our camp.”

Up until 2008, the Jets trained at Hofstra University in Hempstead.

The Jets’ first preseason game is on Thursday, when Gang Green will take on the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium.

Training camp in Cortland will wrap up on August 13.
