Cops Seek Help In Identifying Woman Found Floating In East River

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has asked the public for help in identifying a woman who was found floating in the East River on Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 9 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a person in the river at Clason Point in the Bronx. Responding officers found the body of an unidentified, fully clothed female, with trauma to the face.

EMS arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

The woman has been described as white or Hispanic, she is approximately 5'2", 120-lbs, and was wearing a black shirt with long sleeves, black pants, and multicolored sneakers. The woman was approximately 60 years old, police said.
