We’re willing to bet most of you have never eaten a Hungarian langos before. Now you can, with the new food truck called Langos.
This dish was new to us, but how can you go wrong with fried dough and cheese? That’s a tough one to mess up, and it can be excellent when done well.
Since it was our first time at the truck, we ordered the Classic Langos, which cost $6. They had several other versions such as a Greek langos, one with peppers, and even a dessert langos with nutella, bananas and almonds. You can see the full menu here.
To put it into terms a non-Hungarian could understand, langos could be described as a Hungarian version of pizza, although the dough is more like a zeppole.
Opening the bag, our classic langos had shredded cheese, garlic and sour cream on top of the dough. The langos was fairly light, but nearly the size of the paper plate it was served on.
On the truck, a sign says they have the “Best Dough On The Planet”. We can’t quantify that claim, but the dough was quite light – crispy on the outside, and soft and airy on the inside. Nice job on the dough.
The shredded cheese was along the lines of gouda or havarti, with a slightly strong flavor, and it was plentiful.
Sour cream under the cheese and around the edges of the langos added some tang to the dish, which we enjoyed.

Next time we might try the langos with smoked salmon with caviar, capers, dill and creme. That should be interesting!
