NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A man was found dead Thursday afternoon in a grove of bushes in Central Park.

Around 9:25 a.m., police responded to a 911 call for an unconscious man in the park near 96th Street and Fifth Avenue, police said.

They found the man in the bushes, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s office will determine the cause of the man’s death, and the investigation continued late Thursday.

The man’s identification had not been released late Thursday.
