NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A man was found stabbed to death early Wednesday in an East New York, Brooklyn building.

Police were called at 1:08 a.m. to the building at 855 Louisiana Ave., for a report of a man who had been shot in the lobby. Police later determined that the man had not been shot, but had been stabbed multiple times, police said.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said.

He was identified as Jerome Barrett, 35, of Brooklyn.

No one was in custody in the shooting late Wednesday.
