Man Sought In Connection With Armed Robbery Of Livery Cab Driver In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a livery cab driver.

At around 8:30 a.m. Monday, a man got into a livery taxi at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Avenue X in Brooklyn and asked to be driven to East 98th Street and Church Avenue, police said.

The suspect then pulled out a silver-colored gun and held it against the body of the 41-year-old male driver, police said.

He demanded cash and jewelry which the victim handed over, police said.

When the driver stopped at East 92nd Street and Church Avenue, the suspect tried to destroy the vehicle's security camera before fleeing eastbound on Church Avenue, police said.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 28 to 38 years old, with a bald head. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket and blue jeans.
