Police: 2 Suspects Wanted In New Year's Day Bagel Store Shooting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police have released pictures of two masked men wanted in connection to a bagel store shooting on New Year's Day.

Police say the men tried to hold up the Hot Bagels shop on Arthur Kill Road on Staten Island Thursday morning.

Workers were not responding to their demands so police say they shot two workers in the chest.

"The guy's standing right here. Four guys working behind the counter, they tell them to go down," store owner Tony Nazir said.

Nazir got the call that two of his workers had been shot. Much of the terror was caught on surveilance video, CBS2's Steve Langford reported.

"One of the guys, he's standing here. He got shot in the shoulder. One guy shot in the stomach," nazir said.

The trigger happy gunman fired a shot when a worker on the phone didn't hit the deck fast enough.

"I guess the guy's thinking, he's maybe call somebody or on the phone talking to somebody tell them to call the cops, and maybe get nervous and shot him," Nazir said.

Another worker trying to flee to the kitchen was shot. Police and EMTs rushed to the scene.

The gunmen ordered everyone to the ground, but never demanded money or took anything.

"Every single one here is family you could say," Stacy Cirello said, " They're very good guys. Hard working guys. They don't deserve to get shot."

Both victims are expected to survive.
