Police: L.I. Woman Was Driving On Drugs When She Hit 2 Cars, House

ROCKY POINT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island woman stood charged with driving on drugs Wednesday night, after she allegedly hit two vehicles and crashed into a house in Rocky Point.

Aura Dimon, 34, was stopped at a red light on Route 25A at Fairway Drive, when she put the 2003 Jeep she was driving into reverse and hit the car behind her, Suffolk County police said.

Dimon then made a U-turn and got behind the car she had just backed into, and proceeded to hit the car a second time by rear-ending it, police alleged.

Dimon then drove off, and crashed into another car at Rocky Point Landing and Hallock Landing roads in Rocky Point, police said.

She drove off again, and went on to hit a tree and a flagpole, and to crash into the house at 181 Rocky Point Rd., police said.

Dimon got out of the Jeep and tried to flee, but was apprehended by Good Samaritans, police said.

No one was seriously injured in the incidents.

Dimon, of Southampton, was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, and driving while under the influence of drugs, police said.

She was set to be arraigned in Suffolk County First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
