DEER PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A 57-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in a fatal hit-and-run of a pedestrian in Deer Park, Long Island, police said.
Irene Caldarero, 57, of Deer Park, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. She struck a woman crossing Deer Park Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. Caldarero stopped briefly, but drove off before police arrived, authorities said.
