Prosecutors: Man Arrested After Being Caught In Plane Cockpit At JFK

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An Atlantic City man was arrested Tuesday after JetBlue staff found him sitting in the cockpit of a plane at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. at Terminal 4 at JFK, a JetBlue representative found Jarrett Stroud, 26, sitting in the cockpit of a plane, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

Signs are posted on the cockpit door pointing out that it is off limits except to authorized personnel.

Crewmembers immediately removed Stroud from the plane and turned him over to Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police, according to JetBlue.

Stroud was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation, and was then arrested, prosecutors said.

He was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing.
