Pit Bull Found Strangled, Hogtied In Central Islip
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities are trying to find the person responsible for strangling and hogtying a pit bull on Long Island.
The dog was found in a black plastic bag on Audwin Road in Central Islip around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross said.
The young female dog appeared to have been strangled and her legs were tied with wire cable, Gross said. The inside of the dog's mouth was also burned.
The cause of death is not known. A necropsy was inconclusive.
A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
