NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A woman who cleans planes at John F. Kennedy Airport is accused of liquor larceny.
Over a three-year period, 48-year-old Juanette Cullum of Brooklyn swiped approximately $10,000 worth of mini liquor bottles typically served on flights, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Investigators caught Cullum thanks to a tip and recovered 1,500 of the small bottles in a closet at her home, officials said.
“The defendant was a contract employee at Kennedy Airport, who was entrusted with cleaning planes. In addition, however, to tidying up the aircraft the defendant allegedly helped herself to the mini bottles of alcohol on board,” Brown said in a statement.
Cullum was responsible for cleaning American Airlines airplanes in Terminal 8, Brown said.
Cullum is charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
She faces up to seven years in prison, if convicted.
