Pedestrian Struck, Wounded By SUV On Eleventh Avenue
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was struck and injured by a sport-utility vehicle that ended up on the sidewalk in Hell's Kitchen Friday night.
The accident happened around 9:50 p.m. on Eleventh Avenue between 41st and 42nd streets, the FDNY said.
A man was struck and was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center in serious condition, the FDNY said.
CBS2's Tracee Carrasco reported the SUV also took down a fire hydrant and ended up on the sidewalk in front of a FedEx store.
Witnesses told CBS2 the driver may have tried to avoid hitting a truck, and ended up on the curb instead.
