The NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad learned that before the accident, a 2004 Freight Liner truck and a 2005 GMC Envoy were both headed south on Eleventh Avenue when the vehicles made contact at 42nd Street.
The Envoy ended up on the sidewalk and struck Grant, police said. As of late Saturday, there had been no arrests and the investigation was ongoing.
