Amityville Woman Says Cars Driving In Parking Lane Putting Pedestrians At Risk
AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island woman said she is scared to walk off her driveway because there have been so many accidents near her home.
As WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported, Marjorie Doris Lee has lived in the one-story home in Amityville for 64 years.

Lee said in the past six years she has seen dozens of accidents near her home on Great Neck Road because people have started to use the lane designated for parking as a lane to drive in, and pedestrians near the curb have been hit again and again.
"The young lady that worked for this child care center came out to cross this street, and again this lane, which is supposed to be for parking, she actually was hit and she is totally disabled and walks with a walker and cane now," she said.
Lee has been writing letters and calling Suffolk County authorities in an effort to get orange barrels or large signs telling motorists not to drive in the parking lane.
WCBS 880's calls for comment to county authorities were not returned.
