NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Flushing is returning to its farmland days with a special food festival.

Catskills Comes to Queens, which is being held Saturday, brings together 20 chefs from New York City and upstate to put their spin on locally sourced products.

“Grass-fed beef, heritage pork, pasture-raised chickens, farmstead cheeses, wonderful maple cider,” are just some of the foods from the state’s best farms that visitors will be able to enjoy, said organizer Joseph DiStefano.

Two Michelin-starred chefs will be among those cooking.

Danny Brown, of Danny Brown Wine Bar & Kitchen in Forest Hills, will make a “terrine of LaBelle Farms foie gras and guinea hen with hazelnut oil and microgreens.”

Hugue Dufour, of M. Wells Steakhouse in Long Island City, will also prepare a “gigantic tagine of lamb.”

“The idea is to put that product into the hands of the best chefs in New York City,” DiStefano said. “It’s really exciting to be able to bring the farm products to Flushing, which was once farmland hundreds of years ago.”

The event will be held at Flushing Town Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 pm. Tickets can be purchased online HERE or at the door.
