UPS Announces Service Impacts During Papal Visit

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- If you're waiting a bit longer for a package during Pope Francis' visit to the United States this week, here's why.

Since security measures will be in place, UPS is implementing contingency plans to minimize service impacts during Pope Francis' visit to Washington, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia September 22-27.

During the visit, no pickups and deliveries will be available in some ZIP codes. The days when service will be impacted are:

• Washington, D.C.: Tuesday, September 22, through Thursday, September 24. (Only limited areas of ZIP codes will be impacted, depending upon street closures.)

• New York City: Thursday and Friday, September 24-25

• Philadelphia: Friday and Saturday, September 25-26
