Aspiring Rapper S.L. Blicky, Brother Shot Dead On Staten Island

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two brothers, one of whom was an aspiring rapper, were gunned down Sunday morning outside a Staten Island gas station, police said.

Justin Ford, 28, and Terrell Ford, 27, were shot and killed at Targee Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in Fox Hills, authorities said.

"They were fighting at first in the beginning, and then what happened this guy came and he started shooting at them," a man who worked at the gas station told 1010 WINS' Roger Stern.

The brothers were taken to area hospitals, where they were pronounced dead.

There's no word on what caused the argument that preceded the shooting.

Justin Ford had a budding music career and performed under the name "S.L. Blicky."

Each brother leaves behind a young daughter, Stern reported.

Their older brother, Michael, was grief stricken Sunday.

"They were my best friends," he said. "They always made sure I was good, and vice versa."

Also Sunday morning, police in the Bronx found a woman shot in a car outside a building on Morris Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday. She had been wounded in the head while sitting in the passenger seat. She was identified as 27-year-old Jennifer Ortiz.

No arrests have been made in either case.
