Bizarre Dispute Over Food, Bed Bugs Leads To Arrest Of NJ Man

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A man was arrested after a bizarre dispute between three people at a home in New Jersey.

Police were called to a Hackettstown home after an argument between a man and two women got loud. When they arrived at the scene, Santos Galicea, the man involved, insisted the dispute was over a bed bug problem, but the women gave a differernt story.

"The two females that were also inside the apartment saying that they had the dispute over missing food," Police Sergeant Darren Tynan said.

Galieca was arrested for disorderly conduct. Tynan said the police department notified health officials about a possible bed bug problem, WCBS 880's Levon Putney reported.

According to Tynan, this is the first time the local police department has ever received a call like this, and it left the officers a little surprised.

"They [the officers] come back shaking their head thinking, did this really just happen?" Tynan said. "It's just amazing what the officers see on a daily occurrence."
