NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Correction officers will be gathering on the steps of City Hall Monday to call for changes on Rikers Island.

The Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association along with some community leaders want a delay in the implementation of the new use of force guidelines on Rikers. COBA President Norman Seabrook would like some input on the new rules.

The demand comes following an incident last Thursday when authorities said a correction officer was attacked by two inmates.

In mid-October, a judge approved reforms at Rikers following accusations guards used unnecessary force against inmates.
