Jets Week 12 Injury Report: Darrelle Revis And Dion Bailey Out Against Dolphins

By Abraham Gutierrez

As expected, the New York Jets will be without the services of cornerback Darrelle Revis (concussion) when the Miami Dolphins come to town for a Week 12 meeting at MetLife Stadium. For the first time all season, the perennial Pro Bowler will be forced to watch from the sidelines as Gang Green and the Fins put a cap on their season series in what has to be considered a must-win for both clubs.

Without Revis, the Jets will not only be missing one of their most productive players in the unit, but more so, the heart and soul of this defense. The six-time Pro Bowler is eighth on the team in tackles (30 tackles) and second in interceptions (3).

"[Revis feels a] little better each day, but not good enough for physical activity," said Jets head coach Todd Bowles. "The [concussion] protocol is the protocol, but we got to clear him and he's got to feel better. There is always concern when somebody gets a concussion. You just don't know how bad it affects them."

Unfortunately, Revis isn't the only player that's been ruled out of Sunday's pivotal showdown with the Dolphins. According to reports, safety (ankle) will also join "Revis Island" as spectators in the Jets sidelines. Even though he's listed as doubtful, Bowles put all speculation to rest when announcing that Bailey will sit out, and also took the opportunity to declare (cornerback) Marcus Williams as Revis' replacement on Sunday.

"Anytime you lose a guy like that, you lose a one-on-one matchup guy," he said of Revis. "I like [Williams'] poise. He is very patient out there. The moment is not too big for him, the ball finds him, very instinctive, very smart. [But Williams] and the rest of the defense can probably work on tackling and wrapping up [more]."

New York Jets fans would be glad to know that the remaining 12 players in this week's report are listed as probable. This is particularly good news given the fact that only center (C) Nick Mangold (hand laceration) was unable to have full participation in practice this week. Here's what Jets fans can expect this week when the Miami Dolphins invade MetLife Stadium Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET:
