Cops: 3 People Saved From Heroin Overdoses In Same Upstate NY Home

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police officers in upstate New York have saved three people who overdosed on heroin inside the same home within a five-hour span.

Officers were called around 6 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a woman who was unconscious at a house in Baldwinsville, outside Syracuse, police told CNY Central.

The woman had overdosed on heroin and an officer administered the heroin antidote Narcan before the woman was taken to a Syracuse hospital, officials said.

Five hours later the same officer and another cop were called back to the home, where two 22-year-olds had also overdosed on heroin.

Both people were treated with Narcan and taken to a hospital.

The police chief said all three would have died if not for the quick response of the officers and emergency crews.
