Report: Jets Re-Sign Linebacker Henderson To 2-Year Contract

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Jets took a chance on Erin Henderson last offseason and it ended up paying off.

Now, they are rewarding him.

According to a report in Newsday, the Jets have re-signed the veteran linebacker to a two-year contract worth up to $5 million.

Henderson sat out the entire 2014 season following a pair of arrests for suspicion of drunken driving that ultimately led to his release by the Minnesota Vikings.

Henderson, who will turn 30 on July 1, played in all 16 games last season with the Jets, sharing time at inside linebacker with Demario Davis. Now, with Davis having signed with the Cleveland Browns, it appears Henderson may have the inside track to start alongside veteran David Harris.

A former undrafted free agent out of Maryland, Henderson had 45 combined tackles and two forced fumbles last season. He has 333 combined tackles in 80 career games.
