Chicago Cubs Welcome Real Cubs To Camp; All-Star Gets Peed On
MESA, Ariz. (CBSNewYork) -- The Chicago Cubs had some unusual visitors at spring training on Friday -- actual cubs.
Two 10- to 12-week baby black bears were the special guests at the team's "Animal Kingdom Day." Players got a chance to hold the animals, which seemed like a great idea until one of them apparently urinated on All-Star first baseman Anthony Rizzo.
The baby bears were brought by staff from Bearizona, a wildlife park. The players were asked to come up with names for their furry friends, something they were still working on at last check.
"There's a lot of pressure there," manager Joe Maddon said.
The baseball Cubs donated $2,000 to Kurt Warner's Treasure House charity as part of an arrangement to have the bears visit.
