Pilot Injured In Small Plane Crash In New Jersey

MARLBORO TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities say the pilot of a small plane suffered a leg injury when it crashed in Monmouth County.

The pilot was the only person aboard the Luscombe 8A aircraft when it went down around 1 p.m. Saturday in a field near School Road East and Oak Lane in Marlboro.

There was no reported property damage.

The Marlboro Township Police Department said in a statement the pilot was transported to Jersey Shore University in Neptune.

The pilot's name has not been released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
