NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A 29-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle in Queens late Tueaday night.

According to police, William Wine jumped from a raised concrete median at the intersection of Merrick Boulevard and Victoria Road in St. Albans when he was hit by an oncoming 2001 Honda Accord.

Wine was found with severe trauma to the head and body and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The 28-year-old driver remained at the scene of the crash and no arrests have been made, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
