Adele On Brangelina Divorce: 'It Feels Like The End Of An Era'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Count Adele as among those saddened by the Brangelina divorce.

At her concert in New York on Tuesday night, Adele brought up Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's breakup, telling the crowd she had to address "the elephant in the room.''

The New York Daily News reports the British singer told the audience at Madison Square Garden that while she doesn't know the former couple, "it feels like the end of an era.''

Many of Adele's songs carry a theme of heartbreak. Fans say on social media say she dedicated Tuesday night's show, which she described as two hours of misery, to Pitt and Jolie.

On Wednesday, Madame Tussaud's  in London acknowledged the couple's separation by officially separating Jolie and Pitt's statues on their museum floor.

An attorney for Jolie Pitt, Robert Offer, said Tuesday that Jolie had filed for the dissolution of the marriage. Offer said the decision was made "for the health of the family."

Though together for 12 years, Pitt and Jolie only wed in August 2014. They married privately in the French hamlet of Correns in Provence with their children serving as ring bearers and throwing flower petals. They announced the ceremony days later.

The couple has six children together: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
