Port Authority Reportedly Suspending Search For Chief Executive

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Port Authority is reportedly suspending its search for a chief executive indefinitely.

The CEO would oversee most of the area's bridges, tunnels and airports.

The search began more than two years ago.

On Thursday, the chairman is expected to tell the board they haven't found a suitable candidate, CBS2 reported.

The chief executive would replace an executive director and a deputy each appointed by the governors of New York and New Jersey.
