Search On For Suspect Who Slashed Man During Meatpacking District Fight

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 25-year-old man was expected to recover after being slashed in the face in an early-morning quarrel in the Meatpacking District early Sunday.

Police said it happened around 4:45 a.m. on West 14th Street near Hudson Street.

The victim said another man turned around and slashed him as they were standing near a food cart, leaving a 3-inch gash in his cheek.

The suspect fled the scene, police said.

The victim as treated and released from NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.
