Jews Celebrate Festival Of Sukkot
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Jews are celebrating the festival of Sukkot.
The holiday began last night at sundown and lasts seven days.
It marks the end of the harvest season and recalls the wandering of the Israelites in the desert for 40 years after their exodus from Egypt.
Many families build a temporary hut called a Sukkah, recreating the huts farmers lived in during the harvest.
