Long Island Man Faces Hate Crime Charges After Allegedly Stealing LGBT Flags From Church

SAYVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A Sayville man faces hate crime charges for allegedly stealing several LGBT flags, Suffolk County police said.

Ronald Witt faces six counts of petit larceny as a hate crime.

Police say he stole flags from in front of Sayville Congregational United Church of Christ on July 29, Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 15, Oct. 20 and Nov. 6.

Witt will face a judge for arraignment Wednesday.
