Lowe's Laying Off Workers, Turning To 3rd Parties To Fill Jobs
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Home improvement giant Lowe's says it is laying off thousands of workers.
They include people who assemble items like grills and patio furniture and perform maintenance and facility-service jobs, such as janitors.
Lowe's says it's outsourcing those jobs to third-party companies to let store associates spend more time serving customers on the sales floor.
The company would not say exactly how many workers will be losing their jobs.
