Police: Thieves Armed With Hammer Steal Tip Jar From East Village Business

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Two people were taken into custody last night for allegedly stealing a tip jar while armed with a hammer in the East Village.

Police said the suspects robbed a business shortly before 7:45 p.m. Wednesday near East 14^th Street and 1^st Avenue.

Officers caught up with them a short time later.

So far, no charges have been announced.
