B&C Show Blog & AUDIO: Survey Says...It's a Family Feud

Bobby Dwyer

With the premiere of Hard Knocks last night on HBO, the on-going Darrelle Revis contract negotiations, Isiah Thomas' on again-off again relationship with the Knicks and the Yankees coming from behind to beat Cliff Lee and the Rangers 7-6, you might wonder why the guys opened up today's Program talking about the Mets, who lost to the Rockies 6-2???  Well, following the game Mets closer, Francisco Rodriguez allegedly had an altercation with his father in-law that led to a trip to the hospital and a night behind bars.  The man they call K-Rod was one the one who ended up spending the night in a holding cell, while his wife's father was treated for the wounds he received as a result of his son in-laws fist.  By the way, K-Rod didn't even pitch in the game and Craig suspects that is what may have led to his feistiness.  After a few days ago when the guys declared the Mets both unwatchable and therefore irrelevant, Boomer summed things up by simply saying, 'You just can't make this stuff up…'

Before Jerry Recco's first update of the day, Craig passed along the news that Carlos Beltran cleared waivers and is now eligible to be traded, although he does have a no-trade clause in his contract, so any movement is unlikely.  Then Jerry reported on the Mets circus like atmosphere and we also hear from a fired up John Sterling following last night's thrilling victory in the Lone Star State…

K-Rod UPDATE:  We got word from one of our sister station, 1010 WINS, that Rodriguez had not only spent the night in a holding cell at Citi Field, but that he was still being held.  WINS's morning street reporter John Montone was on hand at Citi Field, so the guys chatted with him for a few minutes, just before 7:30, to get the latest news…

Back on Monday the guys talked about the Jet Blue flight attendant, Steven Slater that got fed-up with his job and promptly quit.  Since then we've learned that a mutual friend of both Boomer and Craig happened to be on the now infamous flight.  Howie Deneroff, who is the VP/Executive Producer for Westwood One Sports, was making his way back from Canton, Ohio and according to him; the writing was on the wall that Slater was a bit of a loose cannon…

A few weeks back, Boomer and Craig filmed an episode of the Iron Chef (which will air sometime in the near future) and during their time there, Craig made quite a splash.  He butted heads with just about everyone, but he specifically rubbed Iron Chef Donatella Arpaia (you can check out her website by simply clicking here) the wrong way.  She joined the guys afterwards to try and iron things out and low and behold, she and Craigie set-up a 'Meatball Cook-off/Taste Test'.  Today was the day and Donatella and her people arrived ready to wow us.  Donatella prides herself on her meatballs and having tasted them, I can understand why.  But I have to say, I may not have what you would call a developed pallet, but Craig stepped-up to the plate and made some good freakin' meatballs too…

With our daily 'Attention Grabber' on hold for the time being, Craig wanted to give the listeners something, so he had 'the' Eddie Scozzare, Lupus/Rocco and me pose topless (click here to see the impressive photo spread)with the hopes of drawing some traffic to the site.  A brilliant idea by Craig, if I do say so myself.  Jerry must have felt the same way as he chose some dialogue about Craig's terrifc idea as his highly anticipated Moment of the Day.  After that, I offered an informative Blog Spot and some more talk about Craig's delicious balls, his meatballs…
