Crews Work To Remove Tree That Fell On N.J. Home

GLEN ROCK, N.J. (CBS 2)After two days of spring-like weather, winter weather is back. Strong winds over the weekend ushered in the colder temperatures and, on Monday, the snow.

Those powerful winds knocked down several trees throughout the Tri-State Area Saturday, including a 90-foot red oak in Glen Rock, New Jersey.

A tree service crew was back on Ridge Road Sunday to remove the remains of the enormous tree.

The tree fell on a house Saturday while the family was on vacation in South Carolina.

"That's our master bedroom," said homeowner Ed Desalvio. "Probably crushed if we were in there at the time. We were very very lucky. Very grateful."

The family learned about the accident from the Glen Rock Police. They returned home after hearing the news.
