Seth Grossman called 911 around 12:30 p.m. to report that his 30-year-old wife, Elena, was in labor at their home on Blue Point Road, police said.

When the three arrived, they realized there was no time to waste.

First Assistant Chief Richard Stack, Paramedic Chris Colletti and Fifth Precinct Police Officer Christine Balsamo helped deliver the baby girl right there in the home.

"I was kneeling at the side of the bed when she started coming out," Stack said. "It was a very strange and moving situation. I don't have any kids of my own, I've never been in a situation like that before."

"When she started crying, it was just an amazing feeling and something I will never forget," Balsamo said.

Little Hannah, and mom were taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where they are listed in good condition.
