NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - He doesn't stay in one place very long.

WCBS 880's Alex Silverman: It's Something Different

"You'll definitely notice him," says one man. "He seems to look around, see if there's a little crowd forming. Then he'll start doing his act."

He's elusive, but Staten Islanders say he's everywhere.

"I see him always do the moonwalk. That's the one move I see him do," the man said.

Nearly 4,000 people are now tracking the mysterious dancing man on Facebook - from streets to buses to the Staten Island Mall where Carlo spotted him just this week.

"He does his little Michael Jackson moves, his little spins," says Carlo.

He moves to music only he can hear in his headphones.

"It's entertaining to watch. We just watch it," said one man, who noted that the dancer doesn't ask for money.

"Maybe he wants a change. Maybe just something for the hell of it, for a fun time," says one man.

So, why is the dancing man's legend growing?

Maybe because he won't even stop to say hello or maybe it's just because it's something different.

"I'm not sure if it's because of how bad he is or if it's because of how good he is," said one man.

One fan was able to get a name out of him: Joe. But that was it.
