NEW YORK (WFAN) — Plaxico Burress is in New York, ready to meet with coach Tom Coughlin and the Giants to discuss an unlikely second chance reunion, according to multiple reports.

Burress has “warmed to the idea and is much more receptive to” returning to the Giants, wrote the Daily News. The New York Post reports Burress is “seriously considering” Big Blue.

According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Burress was to meet with the Giants on Wednesday, but NFL rules say teams cannot meet with free agents until Friday.

Meeting or no meeting, is seems Burress has fielded phone calls from a pair of notable Giants. Co-owner Steve Tisch and quarterback Eli Manning have reached out to the wide receiver, reported The Post.

But some wonder whether Burress, outspoken about his distaste for Coughlin’s coaching style, is a good fit for New York.

“I don’t see how the Giants can go down the Plaxico road again,” WFAN’s Craig Carton said on Wednesday.

Morning show co-host Boomer Esiason agreed: “How can you put your head coach in that situation?”

The wide receiver and Coughlin haven’t always seen eye to eye. Burress called his relationship with Coughlin “ambivalent” in a television interview days after his June 6 release from prison on a gun charge.

Burress later told SiriusXM’s NFL Radio in July that “the head coach is going to be first and foremost” in his decision where to sign next.

It appears Burress is ready to patch things up with Coughlin.

“I really don’t know what I’m going to say,” Burress told the Star-Ledger. “I’m just going to go in there tomorrow and speak from the heart, be truthful with him and let him know how I feel. Whatever comes out is going to come out.

“I’m pretty sure there are things he wants to say, too.”

Should the Giants give Burress a second chance? Sound off in the comments below…

However you feel about him personally, there is no denying that this team was never better then when Eli and Plaxico were together in the lineup. Sometimes a QB and WR have a certain on field chemistry that transcends their individual personalities and this seems to be the case w/these 2. His off the field stupidity was nothing when compared to some of the other players in the league like Vick and Donte Stallworth and if those guys were worthy of 2nd chances then Plax is certainly entitled to one. I’m all for it.

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from,

At least he did not kill innocent dogs. He did do a stupid thing and paid the price for his poor judgement. Now its time to let it go and welcome him back to the Giants’ family.

If it wasn’t for the Almighty Dollar, which is the essential basis, by definition, for PRO SPORTS. I could probably count the players in the NFL, as well as other pro leagues, on all my fingers, toes , bones and molecules in my body that are motivated by their obscene incomes and not the love of sport.
Plax did a monumentally stupid thing. He’s admitted it and paid the price. I think he’s done a lot of growing up and deserves another shot. We all at one time or other can use a shot at redemption… provided of course he can still play the game after all this time and make the team like everyone else.

Wow you mean Plax will lower himself to work with Tom. Guess he is a slave to the almighty dollar like the rest of us. So much for his proclamations about checking out the coach first in his next contract. AX PLAX.
