But it's a whole new world here along the Hudson River waterfront with new condos and a new virbrancy.

A Wall Street Journal report says an announcement on Formula One racing in 2013 is set for tomorrow.

Chris Caneer says it's a topic among customers at the coffee shop where she works.

"Their big concern would be like, I guess, the traffic, the congestion, and then also, like, runing the waterfront, you know, because it's kind of like a nice relaxing atmosphere. People go down there to enjoy themselves," she told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane.

Supporters say the event will bring in big bucks for local businesses and world attention, and with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop, they say this, is a perfect setting.

April Hartman, who is in real estate, is among the supporters who say the race would raise the area's profile.

"You know, actually a lot of people in the city have no idea that this even exists," she said. "[If] they get a look at the properties, it could be really interesting. I'm looking forward to it."
